Draft to be reviewed by a lawyer before launch. This text was written to structure the platform; it is not legal advice. Each province's consumer protection laws (including Quebec's Consumer Protection Act) limit the clauses a merchant can enforce against a consumer: only a lawyer can confirm their validity. In case of discrepancy, the French version prevails.
Independent contractor agreement
Version of 2026-10-15
1. Status
You perform the jobs you accept on Clean Season as an independent contractor: you freely choose which jobs you take, you provide your own equipment and you are responsible for your tax and social obligations.
2. Insurance and liability
- Liability insurance is strongly recommended, but it is not required to take jobs.
- If you have it, you can declare it in your profile (insurer, policy number, expiry date) and provide proof on request.
- You remain responsible for damage you cause during a job, with or without insurance.
3. Proof of service
- On arrival and before any work: photos of the vehicle from four angles (front, back, sides) and a note of existing damage.
- At the end: at least two photos of the result.
- These photos are time-stamped and protected against tampering. A job cannot be completed without them.
4. Snow removal best practices
- Use a suitable brush or scraper; never a metal tool or shovel on the body or windows.
- Don't force a frozen part (wiper, mirror, handle, antenna): note it and photograph it.
- Don't enter or start the vehicle unless agreed in writing with the customer.
- Stop the job if conditions become dangerous, and report it as an incident.
5. Incidents
- Any incident (damage found, accident, inaccessible vehicle, dangerous situation) is reported immediately in the job, with photos.
- A prompt, honest report is taken into account favourably during the review.
6. Pay
- The pay shown on the job is paid to you once the job is completed, after the customer's claim period (48 hours).
- If a report is filed, payment is frozen during the review. Based on Clean Season's reasoned decision, it is kept, reduced or withheld.
- Payments go through Stripe to the bank account you declared.
7. Confidentiality
Customer information (address, phone, vehicle) is used only to perform the job and must not be kept or shared.
