1. Person in charge of personal information
Clean Season offers its services across Canada. In accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA, federal), Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (“Law 25”) and the equivalent laws of Alberta and British Columbia, Clean Season designates a person in charge of the protection of personal information: Landry Watat, founder, reachable at vieprivee@cleanseason.ca.
2. What we collect, and why
- Account: name, email address, password (stored with irreversible encryption), phone number if you provide it — to identify and contact you.
- Vehicles and addresses: make, model, year, color, plate, service address — to perform the service. The address location is calculated at the city level, for the weather.
- Proof photos: photos of the vehicle before and after the service, with the time and the pro's location when taken — to prove the service and handle claims. Only you, the assigned pro and the Clean Season team can see them.
- Bookings, orders and subscriptions: dates, services, amounts, delivery address — to perform the contract, billing and tax obligations.
- Pros: in addition, acceptance of the agreement, work area, liability insurance if declared (insurer, policy number, expiry date), payout information (managed by Stripe).
- Security log: sign-ins, important actions and IP address — to protect accounts and prevent fraud.
We collect no bank card data: payment is entered directly with Stripe.
3. Who it is shared with
- The pro who takes your booking: your first name, the address, the vehicle and your instructions (before it is taken, only the area is visible).
- Stripe (payments, refunds, payouts to pros).
- Shop suppliers: name and delivery address, to ship your order.
- Email and text delivery (Resend, Twilio): your email address or number, and the message text.
- Weather and geocoding (Open-Meteo, Environment Canada): only the city and province, never your name or street.
- Vehicle model photo (Wikimedia Commons): only the make, model, year and color — never the plate.
Some of these providers may process information outside your province or outside Canada. We make sure they offer adequate protection, as the law requires. We never sell or rent your information.
4. Communications
Emails about your bookings and orders are sent by default; you can turn them off in “Notifications”. Text messages are only sent with your explicit consent, recorded with its date; reply STOP or turn them off at any time.
5. Cookies
We only use strictly necessary cookies: the sign-in session, the cart and your language choice. No advertising or analytics cookies are set.
6. Retention
- Account: as long as it is active.
- Bookings, orders, invoices: 6 years (tax obligations).
- Proof photos: 12 months after the service, or until a claim is closed if later.
- Security log: 12 months.
7. Your rights
You can request access to your information, its correction, deletion or portability, and withdraw your consent, by writing to vieprivee@cleanseason.ca. We reply within 30 days. You can also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, depending on your province, the provincial authority (in Quebec: Commission d'accès à l'information).
8. Security and incidents
Encrypted connections (HTTPS), encrypted passwords, role-based access, private photos. In the event of a privacy breach presenting a risk of serious harm, we notify the people concerned and the competent authorities, as the law requires.
